Running injury and some Sunday baking

2 weeks ago, I had some severe pain in my Achilles tendon while I ran on the treadmill. I decided to take some rest and ice my leg in hopes of healing.  Yesterday I decided to try again by running 5mi with Amit, Vivek and Sushma. Both Vivek and Sushma are planning to run their first half marathon in June at the Rock n Roll Seattle.  We decided to run together on the Lake Sammamish River Trail in Marymoor Park. But sadly, 1.8mi into the run I was in terrible pain again and I had to stop and walk for a while. In the meanwhile, Amit had finished his 2.5mi one-way and was coming back to finish his 5mi. As soon as I saw him running towards me, I started crying. I was limping and he tried his hardest to console me. I was in physical pain but what hurt the most was that my injury was much graver than I thought it was.  After the run (atleast the others ran), we went straight to Chipotle because I needed something to make me feel better. I am going to visit a doctor soon and find what the hell is going on with my leg.

Today, I felt like baking something and decided to make Amit’s fav Banana Walnut bread.

Amit decided to monitor the KitchenAid while it did all the beating and whisking.  And after an hour or so of preparation and baking in the oven, it came out looking like this.

Not bad, if I may say so myself :)  It was moist and nutty and delicious! Amit loved it and wondered why I did not bake more often :D That comment made my day!!

Now, off to sleep and gearing up for the upcoming crazy work week! Good night!
